These are the details that sometimes get overlooked during the plaque buying process. Think of them as a checklist of things that make a project go smoothly. You are not expected to have everything figured out before you call. That is our job.
Get an Early Start
Starting early is the single most impactful thing you can do. It gives you standard production time, reduces the chance of errors, and means your designer has options if something unexpected comes up. Even if you have not finalized all the details, call with a quick overview. The earlier you start, the more options you have.
Make Your Deadline Known
If you have a dedication ceremony, opening event, or presentation date, your designer needs to know it during the very first conversation. Every step that follows can then be planned around your timetable. If necessary, your designer will provide a must-order-by date along with your layout and quote.
Provide High-Resolution Photos
If your plaque includes a portrait or photograph, the quality of the finished result depends entirely on the quality of the original image. Submit the highest resolution available, with the subject in crisp focus and good lighting. When in doubt, send what you have and ask your designer to evaluate it.
Size the Plaque to Its Space
A plaque properly proportioned to its mounting space looks like it was always meant to be there. Measure the width and height of your available space and share those dimensions when requesting your layout. Some clients find it helpful to tape a cardboard cutout to the wall at the proposed size before ordering.
Proof Every Word, Date, and Name
Bronze is permanent. Read the inscription top to bottom, then read it backwards word by word. Double-check all dates and numbers. Have a second person proof it too. If names are involved, consider asking each person to sign off on their own spelling before production begins.

Not all bronze plaques are made the same way. Each type has different characteristics in appearance, price, and production time. Your designer will recommend the right one for your project.
Cast Bronze
Molten metal poured into a mold. Produces the classic three-dimensional raised lettering and relief sculpture seen on most public buildings and memorials. The most substantial and prestigious option. Approx. 4 weeks production.
CNC Machine Engraved
Precision-machined to exact tolerances. Ideal for detailed graphics, logos, and our 3D Photo Relief portrait process. Available in bronze, aluminum, brass, and more. Approx. 4 weeks production.
Acid Etched
The recessed areas are created using a controlled acid process. Produces crisp, fine-line detail and is a cost-effective option for complex text-heavy designs. Approx. 3 weeks production.

Artwork & Design
I am not an artist. How do I show you what I want?
You do not have to be an artist. That is our job. Share hand-written notes, a rough description, or just pick up the phone. Whatever you have is fine, and your designer will call for additional details if needed.
Can logos be used on a plaque?
Yes, most logos can be incorporated into a plaque design. Each manufacturing process has minimum requirements, so we will review your artwork to confirm it is usable. If changes are needed, we will quote the cost of bringing it within specifications.
Can a custom typeface be used?
Yes, as long as it meets the minimum requirements for the material and process being used. Our designers will help you determine what works for your project.
What resolution do my photos need to be?
Submit the highest resolution available. The subject should be in crisp focus with good lighting and contrast. When in doubt, send what you have and your designer will tell you exactly what to expect from it.
How much text can fit on a plaque?
The right amount varies by size and design. Great plaques convey full, rich content without feeling crowded. Your designer will tell you when the balance is right for the size you have chosen.
Layouts & Quotes
How long does it take to get a layout and quote?
Our goal is to get your layout and quote to you as quickly as possible. In some cases you will receive it the same day. More complex projects may require additional days. If time is a factor, make sure your designer knows your deadline on the very first call.
How are plaques priced?
Most plaques are priced by the square inch, with the final cost determined by size, material, plaque type, and design complexity. A written price quote is always included with your free layout. There is no charge or obligation.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and check. Credit card payments are processed the day your order ships. Check payments must arrive by the day your order ships.
Production & Turnaround
What is the normal production turnaround time?
Standard production times after design approval are: Cast metal plaques approximately 4 weeks. CNC machine engraved plaques approximately 4 weeks. Etched metal plaques approximately 3 weeks. These are approximate and do not include transit time. Rush production is available.
Can you handle rush orders?
Yes. Rush production is available in as little as 5 working days on many products. Contact your designer as early as possible so we have the most options available to meet your deadline.
How do I make sure my order arrives on time?
Tell your designer your deadline at the very first call. They will provide a must-order-by date with your quote. Place your order on or before that date, approve any final artwork promptly, and follow up with a quick confirmation call after ordering to verify receipt.
Installation & Outdoor Use
Can plaques be used outdoors?
Yes. Most plaques are designed for permanent outdoor use. Cast bronze is built to last for decades outside. Discuss your specific installation environment with your designer before ordering to ensure the right material and finish are selected.
Do you provide mounting hardware?
Hardware for several common surfaces including brick, masonry, wood, and drywall is included with your plaque. The exact type varies by product. Your designer will advise on the right mounting method for your specific surface.
How do I size a plaque to fit its mounting space?
