Custom Plaques for
One-of-a-Kind Ideas
Not every project fits neatly into a category. These custom plaques cover odd shapes, unconventional material combinations, and one-of-a-kind ideas. We design from scratch every time anyway.

Three Ways to Make
a Bronze Plaque
Not all bronze plaques are made the same way. The process you choose affects the appearance, the price, and what the finished plaque can do. Here is what each one is and when it makes sense.
Cast Bronze
Molten metal poured into a sand or rubber mold. Produces the classic three-dimensional raised lettering and relief sculpture you see on most public buildings, memorials, and historic landmarks. The most substantial and prestigious option. Cast bronze has a depth and weight that no other process replicates.
- Memorial and tribute plaques
- Building dedications and named spaces
- Government and institutional installations
- Relief portraits and sculptural elements
- Outdoor plaques built to last generations
CNC Machine Engraved
A computer-controlled router machines the design directly into the metal surface with precise tolerances. Best for detailed graphics, sharp logos, and our 3D Photo Relief portrait process, which machines a dimensional portrait you can feel directly into the bronze. Available in bronze, aluminum, brass, and more.
- 3D Photo Relief portraits
- Precise logos and detailed artwork
- Architectural and corporate signage
- Address plates and home nameplates
- Professional office and law firm plaques
Acid Etched
A controlled acid process removes material from the exposed surface areas, creating the recessed design. Produces crisp, fine-line detail and is particularly cost-effective for plaques with complex text-heavy designs or large amounts of inscription content. The recessed areas create strong contrast with the raised background.
- Multi-name donor recognition plaques
- Text-heavy dedications and tributes
- Cost-effective institutional signage
- Plaques with detailed map or diagram elements
- Budget-conscious professional installations
Not sure which type is right for your project? Tell your designer what you are trying to accomplish and the budget you have in mind. They will recommend the best option and explain the trade-offs. There is no charge for the advice or the design proof.
What You Need to Get Started
- Your basic idea. What is the plaque for? Who or what are you recognizing? Where will it go?
- The text. Names, dates, inscriptions. Even rough notes are enough to start.
- A photo, if applicable. For portrait plaques, the best available photo. High-res is better but any quality works.

Standard production is 3 to 4 weeks. Rush is available in as little as 5 working days. Plaques with complex portraits or graphics may take up to 8 weeks. Whatever your timeline, tell us at the first call and we will tell you what is possible.
Shipping delays are rare but possible. If your date is fixed, tell your designer at the first call so we can plan a production schedule around it.
After placing your order, follow up to confirm receipt. It takes one minute and removes all uncertainty.
Writing “September 2025” instead of “September 15, 2025” protects against last-minute date changes.
Standard Production Times
Times are approximate and begin after design approval. Transit time is additional. Rush fees apply.

What types of custom bronze plaques do you make?
We make cast bronze plaques, CNC machine engraved plaques, acid-etched plaques, and bronze plaques. Each type has different appearance, price, and production time characteristics. Our designers will recommend the right type for your needs and budget.
Can you put a photograph on a bronze plaque?
Yes. Our 3D Photo Relief process machines a portrait directly into the bronze surface, creating a dimensional sculpture you can feel. High-resolution images with good lighting produce the most detailed results, though our designers can work with most photos.
What is the smallest and largest size you make?
We make plaques as small as a desk nameplate and as large as 4 feet wide or more. The Panama Canal Authority commissioned a 53 by 36 inch bronze plaque for their expansion inauguration. Whatever your size requirement, we can accommodate it.
How does the custom design process work?
You call us, a designer answers, and they begin asking questions about your project. You receive a free design proof and quote. You review it, request changes, and we revise until it is right. No charge until you approve the design and decide to order.
