Alumicolor™ anodizes the inscription directly into the surface of a thin aluminum panel, then laminates it to a solid aluminum backer. Alumicolor™ Plaque — Bob Brown, Audie Murphy Award Recipient
Bob Brown came ashore on Omaha Beach on D-Day and scaled the cliffs beyond it. Like many WWII veterans, he never considered himself a hero — in his own words, “you’re just trying to do what they told you to do and do it to the best of your ability… you got your orders on what to do and you did it.” He was honored with the Audie Murphy Award in Washington, D.C. in 2011, and this pair of plaques commemorates that story using his hometown newspaper’s account — drawn from an extensive first-hand D-Day narrative he shared with the reporter who interviewed him.
