Memorial Plaques That Last
Longer Than Words

A bronze memorial plaque does something remarkable. Long after everything else has faded, a stranger walks by, slows down, and discovers the person you loved. Their world is touched by your person’s story.

We’ve been helping families, communities, and organizations create these tributes since 1984. There is no pressure here. When you’re ready to talk, a designer will answer.

We Understand

We Meet You
Exactly Where You Are

For some, creating a memorial plaque is a celebration, a joyful tribute to a life well-lived, bringing people together to look back fondly on someone they loved.

For others, it is one of the hardest things they will do. Emotions get in the way. Tears come when least expected. Some need to put the idea down and come back to it later.

Both are completely normal. There are no salespeople here. No commissions. No quotas. No pressure of any kind. Our designers work at whatever pace is most comfortable for you.

You don’t need to have anything figured out before you call. Just a person in mind, and a desire to honor them. We’ll take it from there.

All You Need to Get Started

  • A photo. The best one you have. Any good photo works.
  • A few thoughts like their name, dates, maybe a quote or a line about who they were. Just the raw ideas.
  • A location in mind, or just a general idea. We’ll help you figure out the right size.

The Story Behind the Plaque

Every memorial plaque starts with a person and a story. Here are all of the memorial projects we’ve been honored to help bring to life.

Engraved bronze memorial plaque for Percy Heath at Montauk Point Lighthouse

Engraved Bronze Memorial for Percy Heath

As visitors to Montauk Point Lighthouse discover every day, there was much more to jazz bassist Percy Heath than they ever knew. “This was one of my father’s favorite places on earth,” his son said. “I remember how we’d share lamps here while surfcasting in the dark. Now he can fish in peace.”

Plaque TypeCNC Machine Engraved
MaterialBronze
Size18″ × 33″
FinishSmooth Satin Bronze raised, Hand-Rubbed Oxidized recessed
Special Features3D Photo Relief™ portrait of Mr. Heath and the Montauk lighthouse scene

I really enjoyed creating this scene, knowing it was Percy’s favorite place to spend time. High-resolution photographs for both images helped them reproduce beautifully on the plaque.

Engraved bronze memorial plaque for Ronnie Lane Gaspard with golf course scene

Engraved Bronze Memorial for Ronnie Lane Gaspard

One candid photograph was all it took to capture Mr. Gaspard enjoying one of his favorite pastimes. This memorial plaque makes the most of that single moment, reproducing it in full-color contoured 3D Photo Relief™ with no borders and minimal text.

Plaque TypeCNC Machine Engraved
MaterialBronze
Size17″ × 11″
FinishSmooth Satin Bronze raised, full color painted recessed
Special FeaturesCandid golf-course scene in 3D Photo Relief™, no border

This is such a simple, non-cluttered design, yet it says so much. Sometimes less content goes much further with the reader.

Etched zinc memorial garden plaque for Sarah Rose Girard at Ridge Wood Elementary School

Etched Zinc Plaque for Sarah Rose’s Garden at Ridge Wood Elementary

This small garden area outside Ridge Wood Elementary School is dedicated to former student Sarah Rose Girard. With the plaque in place, every teacher and student who visits discovers just how much Sarah meant to those who knew her.

Plaque TypeEtched
MaterialZinc
Size12″ × 16″
FinishBrushed Satin Zinc raised, painted black recessed
Special FeaturesCustom flower and peace sign graphics

This could have been just an all-text inscription, but adding the flower graphic as a tie-in to both the poem and the garden adds a certain charm to the whole presentation.

Engraved bronze memorial plaque for Mark S. Malone with airplane flying scene

Engraved Bronze Memorial for Mark S. Malone

Mark built his own airplane and loved to fly it. “I can’t tell you how impressed I am with your ability to portray Mark just as we knew him to be,” his family wrote. “This has truly been a rewarding experience, and to have found professionals such as yourselves is a God-send.”

Plaque TypeCNC Machine Engraved
MaterialBronze
Size12″ × 22″
FinishSmooth Satin Bronze raised, Hand-Rubbed Oxidized recessed
Special FeaturesCustom flying scene combining separate mountain and airplane images in 3D Photo Relief™

Mark built this plane himself, and loved to fly it, so I enjoyed creating this scene. We were able to depict one of his trips even though a matching photo had never actually been taken.

Etched zinc memorial plaque for Cal Thomas Sutter with baseball portrait

Etched Zinc Memorial for Cal Thomas Sutter

Cal was only 13 when he lost his battle with cancer. His family didn’t have to include his photo, but knowing how much he loved baseball, they included his full-color Little League portrait, adding depth and character to Cal’s story, and connecting visitors to the foundation created in his memory.

Plaque TypeAcid Etched
MaterialZinc
Size12″ × 16″
FinishBrushed Satin Zinc raised, painted black recessed
Special FeaturesAlumicolor™ panel with full-color portrait

I was very glad such a high-quality photo of Cal was available. It helps people make the connection between Cal and the foundation created in his memory.

Engraved bronze memorial plaque for Eric David Crane with American flag

Engraved Bronze Memorial for Eric David Crane

Eric was a Junior ROTC Cadet Captain, and this plaque dedicates a rappel tower at Bandy’s High School, where he attended. An American flag was requested to reflect his patriotism and his greatest dream: to fly jets for the United States Air Force.

Plaque TypeCNC Machine Engraved
MaterialBronze
Size26″ × 20″
FinishSmooth Satin Bronze raised, Hand-Rubbed Oxidized recessed
Special Features3D Photo Relief™ portrait framed against an American flag

Framing Eric’s photo was partly the customer’s idea, and partly out of necessity, but I like the formal tone it gives his plaque. This plaque fits his character perfectly.

In Their Own Words

What Families & Organizations Say

Innovative Signs has been pleasant and professional to work with. I’ve ordered multiple memorial plaques from them and find them to be responsive and diligent in completing orders. Carl has been exceptional and I like that they are local, Central Florida.

Central Florida · Multiple memorial plaques

If you want a truly unique tribute rather than a cookie-cutter template, I highly recommend Innovative Signs. I needed a special memorial plaque made and wanted to support a local, family-owned business, since 1984, and a veteran owned business.

Custom memorial plaque

The plaque is incredible! It’s always hard ordering something like this over the web and across the country with such a strict time limit, but it came that Thursday night and it’s perfect. Much better than we had even dared to hope.

Soquel Union Elementary School District, CA
